Samir El Mourabet linked with Leipzig move from Strasbourg
Moroccan-French central midfielder Samir El Mourabet is being linked with a move from Strasbourg to Leipzig, with the 20-year-old currently under contract at the Ligue 1 club until 30 June 2030.
The reported move would see El Mourabet leave France’s top flight for the Bundesliga, although there is no indication that a transfer has been completed or that an agreement has been reached between the clubs.
El Mourabet is registered as a central midfielder and holds Moroccan and French nationality. He remains a Strasbourg player, with his long-term contract running until the end of June 2030. That deal means any move to Leipzig would have to be negotiated with the French club rather than taking place as a free transfer.
The link between the player and Leipzig emerged on 10 August 2026. No transfer fee or probability has been established, while the available information does not indicate whether formal talks have taken place.
El Mourabet’s current club competes in Ligue 1, while Leipzig play in Germany’s Bundesliga. The potential move would therefore represent a change of league and country for the France-based midfielder, who is valued at €22m.
