In an interview with Jeune Afrique, Sami Trabelsi, the coach of Tunisia, expressed optimism about his team’s chances in the upcoming CAN 2013 in South Africa, despite being placed in a challenging group with Algeria, Togo, and Ivory Coast. Trabelsi highlighted the progress of his team, both technically and tactically, and emphasized the quality of play.
He mentioned having a group of 30 players, including experienced individuals like Mathlouthi, Jemaa, Chemmam, and Khlifa, as well as younger players accustomed to high-level competition. Trabelsi acknowledged that Tunisia might not be considered one of the favorites, but he believes they have the potential to reach the final, setting that as his goal for the tournament.
