Saliou Mandiang: Senegal-Spain winger joins Lusitania Lourosa on free transfer

Lusitania FC Lourosa have signed Senegal-Spanish winger Saliou Mandiang on a free transfer from Las Palmas Atletico, tying him to the Portuguese club until June 2029. The 23-year-old right-sided attacker becomes one of the latest additions to the Liga Portugal 2 side as they reshape their squad for the new campaign.

Mandiang moves after his contract with Las Palmas Atletico came to an end, with Lourosa securing the player without a transfer fee. The deal represents his first move outside Spain, where he came through the youth and reserve system at UD Las Palmas. Lourosa are currently preparing for life in Portugal’s second tier and have moved to add depth in wide attacking areas.

Born in Arrecife in April 2003, Mandiang is eligible for both Senegal and Spain and primarily operates as a right winger. Standing at 1.83m, he made his name in Spain’s lower professional tiers, progressing from Las Palmas’ under-19 side to their Atletico team in 2022.

Last season he gained regular senior experience across Spain’s pyramid, featuring in the Primera Federacion and play-offs for promotion to the Segunda Federacion. Across those league and cup competitions, he made more than 40 appearances, scoring three goals and providing one assist, while also appearing in the Copa del Rey.

Mandiang’s move to Lourosa comes with his current market value listed at around €200,000, and he now begins a three-year spell in Portugal after leaving Las Palmas Atletico at the end of his deal.
