Mohamed Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, has revealed that the Egypt captain’s next club could be decided “very soon” while dismissing speculation surrounding the Liverpool legend’s future.

Salah is preparing for the next chapter of his career after bringing an end to a trophy-laden nine-year spell at Liverpool, with several clubs across Europe, Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer reportedly interested in signing him.

Speaking on social media platform X, Abbas insisted no decision has yet been made but suggested clarity is close.

“We still don’t know where Mohamed Salah will play next season, but we may find out very soon.”

Agent dismisses transfer speculation

Abbas also rejected suggestions that Salah’s representatives were holding talks with clubs purely to generate publicity, amid reports linking the Egyptian forward with Turkish side Besiktas.

“It is not our style to enter into negotiations or discussions with clubs that Mohamed Salah does not wish to play for, just to create controversy or media buzz.”

The comments followed reports claiming Salah’s camp had opened discussions with Besiktas over a potential move.

Supporters of the Turkish club fuelled speculation by chanting Salah’s name during the unveiling of new signing Leandro Trossard on Thursday.

Decision expected soon

Salah has also been linked with several other European clubs, as well as teams in the Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer, as interest in one of Africa’s most decorated footballers continues to grow.

While his destination remains unknown, Abbas’ latest remarks suggest the former Liverpool forward is close to deciding where he will play during the 2026-27 season.

Salah heads into the next phase of his career after captaining Egypt to a historic place in the last 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Pharaohs were eliminated by Argentina following a 3-2 defeat.
