Salah matches fowler in Premier League all-time scorers list
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has risen to joint-eighth on the Premier League’s all-time top scorers list after securing a late equalizer in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Sunday.
The Egyptian forward, now 32, notched his 163rd Premier League goal in the 81st minute, saving Liverpool from defeat in a tense showdown at Emirates Stadium in London.
With this goal, Salah has drawn level with Liverpool icon Robbie Fowler, matching the club legend’s total of 163 goals in England’s top-flight competition.
Liverpool released a statement acknowledging Salah’s latest feat, which read: “Mohamed Salah is now joint-eighth with Robbie Fowler on the Premier League’s all-time top goalscorers list.
Liverpool’s No.11 netted his 163rd goal in the competition by equalising late on during his team’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.”
Salah’s impact on Liverpool and the Premier League has been widely recognized since his arrival at Anfield in 2017.
His goal against Arsenal, marking his 10th against the Gunners alone, also saw him surpass former Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe on the league’s all-time scorers’ list.
Salah’s impressive record with Liverpool includes several milestones, including his status as one of the most consistent scorers in the club’s history.
With this latest achievement, Salah has set his sights on surpassing the next name on the list, Arsenal’s legendary forward Thierry Henry, who ranks seventh with 175 goals in the Premier League.
As Salah continues his prolific form, he edges closer to securing his place among the most elite scorers the league has seen.
The focus now shifts to Liverpool’s upcoming fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield on Saturday, where Salah will look to add to his tally and inch closer to Henry’s record.
