Mohamed Salah could be set for a reunion with former Liverpool teammate Darwin Nunez if Turkish side Besiktas succeed in completing ambitious moves for both players during the summer transfer window.

The Egyptian forward, who recently ended his nine-year spell at Liverpool, is currently searching for a new club after leaving Anfield as one of the Premier League side’s most decorated players.

Turkish media reports suggest Besiktas are closing in on Salah, with the club said to have offered the African star a lucrative one-year contract worth around €10 million.

Al-Hilal move could unlock Nunez deal

While negotiations for Salah continue, Besiktas are also reportedly attempting to bring Uruguay international Darwin Nunez to Istanbul.

According to Turkish newspaper Fanatik, the club has submitted a €4 million offer to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal to sign Nunez on a season-long loan.

Al-Hilal’s decision on the proposal is expected to play a crucial role in determining whether Besiktas can complete the move for the striker.

Former Liverpool teammates could reunite

Should Besiktas secure both signings, Salah and Nunez would once again line up together after previously sharing the dressing room at Liverpool.

The potential double deal would represent one of the standout moves of the summer transfer window, bringing together two players who formed part of Liverpool’s attack before going their separate ways.

For Salah, the move would also mark the next chapter in an illustrious career that has seen him establish himself as one of Africa’s greatest footballers following a trophy-laden spell on Merseyside.
