Saint-Etienne sign Senegal winger Etienne Mendy from Diambars FC
Senegalese winger Etienne Mendy has joined Saint-Etienne B from Diambars FC, completing a move to the French club on 16 September 2026.
The 18-year-old has signed a contract with Saint-Etienne B running until 30 June 2030. He will join the club’s side competing in National 2 Group G, having left Diambars after progressing through the Senegalese club’s teams.
Mendy plays primarily on the left wing and is right-footed. He is listed at 1.76m and was born on 25 July 2008.
The transfer marks the latest step in a club career that began with Diambars’ youth sides. Mendy moved from Diambars FC Under-17s to the Under-20 team on 1 July 2024 before stepping up to the senior Diambars squad a year later.
He leaves Diambars after beginning the 2026-27 campaign with the club. His recorded competitive involvement this season came in the CAF Confederation Cup, where he had not made an appearance before switching clubs.
Mendy’s arrival adds a Senegalese attacking player to Saint-Etienne B’s squad, with the teenager now tied to the French club for the next four seasons. His move was registered on 16 September and he is now a Saint-Etienne B player.
