A few hours before his first match in charge of Montpellier, Rolland Courbis shared his opinion on Saint-Étienne playing in green on a green pitch. He jokingly questioned why they don’t use a green ball as well. Courbis mentioned that while it’s a tradition and not something he has against the color or the club, he recalled the challenges of facing Saint-Étienne in the 1970s when everything, including the stands, pitch, and players, seemed green. Courbis playfully suggested trying a different color, perhaps red, to change things up.
