West Brom Reject €33.4M Tottenham Bid for Saido Berahino
West Bromwich Albion have rejected a €33.4 million bid from Tottenham Hotspur for Saido Berahino, underlining their determination to keep hold of one of English football’s brightest young talents.
The 22-year-old striker, born in Bujumbura, Burundi, enjoyed a standout 2014–15 season with the Baggies, scoring 14 goals in 38 Premier League appearances. His performances have drawn widespread interest, with Spurs making the first serious move to secure his signature.
But West Brom are standing firm. Club chairman Jeremy Peace made it clear that Berahino is not for sale — at least for now.
“We have no interest in selling him,” Peace said in a statement. “I know we live in an era where you can never say never about selling a player, but the sale of Saido is not on the agenda.”
Berahino, who joined West Brom’s academy in 2004 and turned professional in 2011, has been touted as a future England international and remains central to manager Tony Pulis’s plans for the new season.
Despite the firm stance, speculation is likely to continue as the transfer window nears its final stretch. Whether Tottenham will return with an improved offer — or shift their focus elsewhere — remains to be seen. For now, West Brom are adamant that their rising star isn’t going anywhere.
