Saidi swaps Sochaux for Unionistas CF on free transfer
Abderrezzek Saidi has joined Unionistas CF on a free transfer from FC Sochaux-Montbeliard, with the 20-year-old right-back making a permanent move to the Spanish club after a loan spell last season.
The Algeria- and France-qualified defender returns to Unionistas CF days after his loan with the Primera Federacion side ended and he officially went back to Sochaux on 30 June 2026. Unionistas have now secured him outright ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, following his initial arrival on loan from the Ligue 2 club on 2 February 2026.
Saidi, born in Sidi Bel Abbes on 25 July 2005, is a 1.78m right-footed full-back whose main position is at right-back. He is listed with a current market value of 50,000, matching his valuation during his successful stint with Unionistas earlier in 2026, and higher than the figures recorded during his time at Sochaux.
Before breaking through at Sochaux, Saidi developed in French football, progressing through the youth ranks at FC Dieppe and AS Beziers. He moved from Beziers youth system to Istres Football Club in January 2025, before earning his switch to Sochaux later that month as he stepped up towards the professional game.
Saidis permanent move from Ligue 2 to Spains Primera Federacion Group I follows a period in which his market value dipped at Sochaux and then recovered after his loan at Unionistas, underlining the impact of his time in Spain on his standing.
The transfer confirms Saidi as a full Unionistas CF player for the 2026-27 season after his previous spell on loan at the club.
