Saïd Benrahma has completed a loan switch to Neom SC from Lyon, with the winger set to join the Saudi Arabian second-tier side for the remainder of the season.
The 29-year-old Algeria international, who has struggled for form in Ligue 1 this season, with just one goal in 13 appearances, embarks on a fresh challenge in the Middle East. Benrahma initially moved to Lyon from West Ham United on loan, before his stay was made permanent last summer for €14m, keeping him at the French club until 2027.
Lyon has confirmed that should Neom SC secure promotion to the Saudi Pro League, Benrahma’s loan deal will be made permanent for €12m. Additionally, the French club stands to earn up to €3m in performance-related add-ons.
Since his arrival in Lyon, Benrahma has contributed six goals and 10 assists in 37 games, helping Les Gones in their domestic and European campaigns. Currently leading Saudi Arabia’s second division, Neom SC will be hopeful of securing promotion to the top flight.
