Algerian international, Said Benrahma, expressed his immense joy at scoring his first goal with Olympique Lyonnais, the French club he joined in the previous winter transfer window from West Ham United.
The Algerian player, immediately after coming on as a substitute yesterday, contributed to Lyon’s hard-fought victory against Metz by scoring the second goal of the match, securing a crucial win as the game was poised at a 1-1 draw.
Speaking at a press conference after the match, which took place as part of the 23rd round of Ligue 1 fixtures, Benrahma said, “I scored immediately after coming on, but the most important thing is that the team continued its winning streak.”
The Algerian player added, “This goal will put me in a better position. I already feel improvement, and I feel more confident. My teammates and the coach have a lot of confidence in me.”
Regarding the positive results achieved with the club, including three wins in three games, Benrahma responded, “I am a good omen for the team.
There is indeed a wonderful and cohesive group here, all moving in the same direction and enjoying themselves.
The coach is trying to instill this feeling in everyone. We work hard in the best conditions.”
The Algerian international concluded, “Today, we are focusing on ourselves and do not want to get caught up in complicated calculations.
We must maintain the joy of playing together.
We dominated the game well in the second half, took control of the ball, and scored at the right time.”
