Slovan Liberec have expressed strong interest in signing Guinean defender Sahmkou Camara following a series of consistent performances in the Czech top flight.

The 22-year-old centre-back, currently on loan at MFK Karviná, has emerged as a key figure in defence, impressing with his reliability, composure and strength in challenges.

His displays this season have attracted attention ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Camara has featured in 26 matches across all competitions, establishing himself as a regular starter and an important presence at the heart of Karviná’s back line.

His performances have not only reinforced his reputation but also drawn interest from clubs seeking defensive reinforcements.

According to sources close to the situation, initial contact has already been made regarding a potential move to Liberec.

The Czech club are understood to be closely monitoring his situation and are considering activating his release clause in order to secure his services once his loan spell ends.

Camara remains under contract with Slavia Prague, who signed him for €700,000. Any transfer would therefore require an agreement with his parent club, adding another layer to ongoing discussions.

Reports indicate that preliminary talks between the parties have begun, with Liberec showing concrete interest in the defender.

The club are reportedly prepared to offer Camara a three-year contract, subject to negotiations being finalised.

The player, meanwhile, is assessing his options alongside his representatives as he considers the next step in his career.

With his loan at Karviná set to run until 30 June 2026, the coming weeks could prove decisive in determining his future.

Camara’s journey to this point has been marked by steady progress. After beginning his career at a young age, he developed through various stages, including a spell in France with RC Grasse, before continuing his rise in European football.

A move from Stade Lausanne Ouchy further shaped his development prior to joining Slavia Prague.

His current market value is estimated at €1.2 million, according to Transfermarkt, reflecting his growing stature in the game.

Financial discussions are expected to intensify in the coming days as all parties work towards a possible agreement.

While no deal has yet been finalised, Slovan Liberec’s interest signals that Camara could soon be on the move, with negotiations entering what may become a decisive phase.
