Sahid Ngobi joins VPS as Benin forward begins Finnish football chapter
Sahid Ngobi, the 21-year-old Benin centre-forward, has joined Finnish club VPS from ASPAC FC.
Ngobi’s move was completed on 22 August 2026, taking him into the Veikkausliiga with Vaasan Palloseura. The forward has signed a contract that runs until 31 December 2026, linking him to the club for the remainder of the calendar year.
The switch represents a move from ASPAC FC to a new league and country for Ngobi. He arrives at VPS as a centre-forward, the position in which he is primarily listed, adding another attacking option to the club’s squad.
Ngobi was born on 26 March 2005 and is 21 years old. His nationality is Beninese, while his new club is based in Finland and competes in the Veikkausliiga.
The forward joins VPS during the 2026 Veikkausliiga season. At the time of the move, he had not made an appearance in the competition, with no starts, minutes, goals or assists recorded from the campaign’s available match data.
His arrival follows the start of the Finnish season and gives Ngobi an opportunity to establish himself in a new football environment. The short-term contract places his immediate focus on the closing months of the 2026 campaign, with the agreement scheduled to expire at the end of December.
For VPS, the signing brings in a young attacking player whose listed role is central to the forward line. Ngobi’s arrival also adds Beninese representation to the club’s squad as he makes the transition from ASPAC FC to Finnish football.
The transfer was recorded for the 2026-27 season, with Ngobi officially becoming a VPS player on 22 August. He has therefore completed his switch and is contracted to the Veikkausliiga club until 31 December 2026.
