SAFA confirms venue for Bafana Bafana’s friendly match against Zambia

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has confirmed Gqeberha as the venue for the upcoming friendly match against Zambia.

The Bafana Bafana are gearing up for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament to be staged in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

However, SAFA has confirmed that Eastern Cape 2010 World Cup venue has designated for the much-anticipated friendly against the Chipolopolo next week.

The high-stake friendly encounter forms part of the Bafana Bafana’s preparation for the continental showpiece scheduled between December 2025 and January 2026.

Having secured bronze in the previous AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast, South Africa are aiming to go past their third place finish at the forthcoming tournament to be held in Morocco.

Coach Hugo Broos will use the game to fine-tune his squad for the much-anticipated AFCON tournament next month.

The high-stake tournament will begin on December 21, 2025 through January 18, 2025 in the North African country.
