Sadio Mane omitted as Patrick Vieira names first Senegal squad

Patrick Vieira has announced his first Senegal squad, with Sadio Mane notably absent from the 29-player selection for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The newly appointed Senegal manager has chosen his group for matches against Mozambique and Ethiopia before the Lions of Teranga face Comoros in a friendly.

Mane, regarded as one of Senegal’s leading figures, is not included in Vieira’s first squad since taking charge.
