Sadio Mané hails Al-Nassr league triumph as one of the greatest moments of his career
Senegalese superstar Sadio Mané has described winning the Saudi Pro League title with Al-Nassr as one of the most important achievements of his illustrious football career.
Mane was on target when Al Nassr walloped Damac on final-day to secure the league title at the expense of Al Hilal.
Reflecting on the sides successful league campaign, the former Liverpool and Bayern Munich star insisted the triumph holds a special place among the many trophies he has won throughout his career.
“Winning the league with Al-Nassr is one of the most important achievements of my football career,” Mané said.
“I have won many trophies in my career, but this particular league title is extremely special. We deserve this league title.”
The comments underline just how significant the success has been for the Senegal international, who arrived in Saudi Arabia carrying huge expectations after an accomplished European career filled with major honours.
Mané has enjoyed success at nearly every stage of his career, winning domestic titles, continental trophies and individual awards while establishing himself as one of Africa’s greatest footballers. However, the attacker suggested that Al-Nassr’s latest achievement carries unique emotional value because of the journey the team endured throughout the season.
The Saudi Pro League title represents a major milestone for Al-Nassr, who battled fiercely against strong domestic rivals in a highly competitive campaign. Mané played a key role in the club’s success with his leadership, experience and decisive contributions in attack.
Since joining Al-Nassr, the Senegalese star has become one of the faces of the Saudi league’s growing global profile. His arrival, alongside several other international stars, helped increase worldwide attention on Saudi football.
Despite initial adaptation challenges following his move from Europe, Mané gradually rediscovered his best form and became one of the team’s most influential players during the title race. His pace, work ethic and winning mentality proved vital as Al-Nassr pushed toward the championship.
For the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations winner, the triumph also represents personal redemption after a difficult spell toward the end of his time in Europe. Injuries and inconsistency affected parts of his final months at Bayern Munich, but the move to Saudi Arabia has allowed him to rebuild confidence and reassert his quality on the pitch.
Mané’s remarks also reflected the unity and determination within the Al-Nassr squad during the campaign. The Senegalese forward emphasized that the players fully deserved the title after months of hard work and sacrifice.
The league victory adds another major honour to an already glittering career that includes the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Bundesliga title and Africa Cup of Nations crown.
Yet, despite all those achievements, Mané’s latest comments suggest the success with Al-Nassr stands apart because of the emotional significance and the challenges overcome along the way.
The veteran forward is now expected to turn his focus toward international duty with Senegal national football team as the Lions of Teranga prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
