Mané fitness doubt ahead of Al-Ahli clash

Sadio Mané is a major doubt for Al-Nassr’s crucial Saudi Pro League match against Al-Ahli after being struck down by flu just days before the fixture.

The Senegalese winger was forced to leave a training session early, raising immediate concerns over his availability for Wednesday’s clash, which comes at a decisive stage of the title race.

Reports in the Saudi media indicate that a virus has affected several members of the Al-Nassr squad. While some players managed to complete training, Mané was unable to continue, leaving his participation in doubt for the match scheduled at 6pm local time in the 30th round of the league campaign.

Al-Nassr currently sit top of the Saudi Pro League with 76 points and hold a 10-point advantage over third-placed Al-Ahli, who also have a game in hand. With five matches remaining, the upcoming meeting is widely viewed as a pivotal moment in the championship battle.

Al-Ahli, led by goalkeeper Édouard Mendy and fresh from their Asian Champions League triumph, travel into the fixture with confidence and a strong belief that they can reignite the title race. Their recent success has added further intensity to an already high-stakes encounter.

For Al-Nassr, the potential absence of Mané would represent a setback. Although his influence has fluctuated in recent weeks, he remains an important attacking option alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, contributing experience and width to the team’s forward play.

The club’s medical staff are continuing to monitor his condition closely in the hope that he may recover in time to feature.

However, with only a short window remaining before kick-off, uncertainty still surrounds whether the 32-year-old will be fit enough to take part in one of the season’s most significant fixtures.

Al-Nassr will make a late assessment before confirming their squad, but for now, Mané’s involvement remains in serious doubt as preparations continue for a match that could have major implications for the title race.
