Olympique de Marseille is still in search of a new coach to replace José Anigo, and the list of potential candidates continues to grow. According to France Football, some new names have emerged in this search.
Among the candidates mentioned are Massimiliano Allegri, the former manager of AC Milan, Michael Laudrup, who previously managed Swansea, and Mauricio Pochettino, the former Southampton coach. However, it’s reported that the club has not accepted the spontaneous applications of Razvan Lucescu from Petrolul Ploiesti and Vahid Halilhodzic from Algeria.
Regarding former players of the club, Alain Boghossian and Boudewijn Zenden, who both lack experience as head coaches at the highest level, are not considered top choices by Marseille’s leadership.
Sabri Lamouchi, the former coach of the Ivory Coast national team until the end of the 2014 World Cup, is also mentioned as a candidate. While he has some internal support, there are concerns that he may lack the necessary experience for the role.
