Rulani Mokwena prioritizes Pyramids FC’s coaching job, turns down offers from Saudi and Qatar

South African trainer Rulani Mokwena has turned down offers from the Gulf state as he prioritizes the Pyramids FC’s coaching job.

Mokwena is currently unattached after parting ways with Moroccan powerhouse Wydad Casablanca in March 2025.

The 38-year-old, who is keen about the Pyramids FC job has reportedly rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia second-tier club Al Jandal and Qatar’s Al Shahaniya

Mokwena is patiently waiting for Pyramids to part ways with their current manager, Krunoslav Jurić, who is expected to leave the team in the near future.

Meanwhile, the Croatian trainer has begun training with Pyramids as they gear up for the new campaign. However, it is unknown whether the club will part ways with the coach or not.

Pyramids have become Mokwena’s top priority, largely due to their participation in the Champions League.

The Egyptian outfit is the reigning champions of the CAF Champions League, having triumphed over Mamelodi Sundowns in the final last month.
