Rulani Mokwena maintains perfect start as Pyramids return to Egyptian Premier League summit

Rulani Mokwena’s unbeaten start as Pyramids manager continued as his side came from behind to beat El-Sharkia Enppi 2-1 and record their fifth Egyptian Premier League victory on Thursday.

Pyramids fell behind two minutes after half-time when Hamed Abdallah scored in the 47th minute. It was the first goal Mokwena’s team had conceded in the league since he took charge.

The visitors responded with an equaliser from Nasser Maher after 65 minutes, before Walid El Karti completed the comeback with the winning goal in the 87th minute.

The result moved Pyramids back to the top of the Egyptian Premier League with 15 points from five matches. They are two points clear of Zamalek and Al Ahly.

Mokwena was named Manager of the Month for August after making an immediate impact at the club. Pyramids have now won all seven of their matches since the South African became manager.
