Al Ahly are preparing to welcome Portuguese coach Rui Jorge as the new technical director of their youth team, with the club seeing him as the right man to guide its next generation.

A club source told Kooora, that a preliminary agreement was reached in recent hours, and Jorge is expected in Cairo next week to meet club officials and sign his contract.

The choice of Jorge was backed strongly by sporting director Mohamed Youssef after a careful review of several candidates. The club believes his background and European experience will help create a new path for young players coming through the ranks.

Jorge’s arrival comes as Al Ahly shifts direction following the departure of Badr Rajab, who left his role to join Al-Bank Al-Ahly in a similar position. The change reflects the club’s focus on long-term development and its commitment to building a strong foundation beneath the first team.

Supporters will be watching closely, hopeful that Jorge’s leadership can produce stars for both Al Ahly and Egyptian football.
