RS Berkane secure Morocco midfielder Mohamed Amine Essahel from Union Touarga
Morocco attacking midfielder Mohamed Amine Essahel has joined RS Berkane from Union Touarga on loan, completing a move that keeps the 23-year-old in the Botola Pro Inwi for the 2026-27 season.
Essahel’s switch was completed on 25 August, with the loan scheduled to run until 30 June 2027. He will return to Union Touarga when the temporary agreement ends, while his new club move gives Berkane another midfield option for their domestic campaign.
The right-footed player has spent the past three years with Union Touarga, who signed him from AM Football on a free transfer in August 2023. Before that, Essahel was briefly involved with Belgian club KAS Eupen’s under-21 side during the 2021-22 season, joining on loan before returning to AM Football.
Essahel has recorded 57 appearances in Morocco’s Botola Pro Inwi, scoring three goals and providing six assists. He has also featured in the Botola Pro 1 relegation competition, the Coupe du Trone Marocaine and the CAF Confederation Cup.
His record includes two continental appearances in the Confederation Cup, as well as a further appearance in the Excellence Cup, where he scored once. He also made one appearance in Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League during his earlier spell with Eupen’s under-21 setup.
Born on 17 February 2003, Essahel is a Moroccan national and has spent the majority of his senior career in the country’s domestic game. His move to Berkane represents a return to a club competing in the same league as Union Touarga, with the agreement preserving his link to his parent club beyond the current season.
RS Berkane have taken the midfielder on loan through to 30 June 2027, when he is due to return to Union Touarga.
