Royal Moroccan Football Federation offers support to Omar El Hilali after racism incident in La Liga
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has issued a strong statement of support for Moroccan international Omar El Hilali following the alleged racist remarks directed at him during a Spanish league fixture.
El Hilali was reportedly subjected to offensive comments during his side RCD Espanyol’s clash against Elche CF in the La Liga on Sunday.
The incident has since sparked widespread reaction, prompting Morocco’s football governing body to take a firm stance.
In an official statement released on Sunday, the Federation expressed its full, unconditional solidarity with the defender, reaffirming its unwavering support for the national team player.
The body also made it clear that it categorically rejects all forms of racism and discrimination, whether they occur on the pitch or beyond it.
Reiterating its commitment to the core principles of respect, tolerance and fair play, the Federation stressed that such values must remain central to football competitions at every level.
