Royal AM duo of Thabo Matlaba and Philani Sithebe are currently training with Lamontville Golden in Durban after the Premier Soccer League Board expelled the club from the league.
The KwaZulu-Natal outfit has been expelled from the league after failing to fulfil the requirements of the league in general and its financial and administrative issues.
However, the remaining matches of the club until the end of the season has been suspended by the governing body due to internal, administrative and financial issues.
In order to maintain their fitness, Royal RM duo Thabo Matlaba and Philani Sithebe have started training with Lamontville Golden in Durban.
The pair will be eyeing a move away from the club in the summer transfer window following Royal AM’s struggles.
Meanwhile, a consortium from Turkey is showing interest in acquiring the club amid recent crisis.
Matlaba, 37, has been one of Royal AM’s most consistent performers since joining in the 2021-2022 season. He has made 88 appearances, scoring 14 goals and assisting 18 others in all competitions.
Philani Sithebe, on the other hand, who joined Royal AM in 2024 made 8 appearances across competitions before the club’s suspension from the league.
