Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho has praised the remarkable progress of Moroccan football while highlighting Achraf Hakimi as one of its brightest symbols ahead of the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Speaking in an interview with SOCCER 212, the former FC Barcelona and AC Milan star commended the growing presence of Moroccan players at elite European clubs.

“When you look at Moroccan players today, you find them playing for the biggest clubs in the world, like Hakimi with Paris Saint-Germain. They have a strong, distinctive personality and a special style on the field that sets them apart from others,” Ronaldinho said.

The 2005 Ballon d’Or winner reserved special praise for the captain of the Morocco national football team, describing Hakimi as one of the clearest examples of Morocco’s football development in recent years.

Ronaldinho added that Moroccan players stand out because of their strong emotional connection to their country and their determination to represent the nation proudly on the international stage.

“What distinguishes Moroccan players exceptionally is their deep connection to their country and their constant desire to represent Morocco in the best possible way at the global level,” he stated.
