Romeo Amane joins Anderlecht from Rapid Vienna for €6.5m
Ivorian midfielder Romeo Amane has joined RSC Anderlecht from Rapid Vienna for €6.5m.
The 23-year-old central midfielder has moved to the Belgian club after 18 months with Rapid Vienna, who signed him from Swedish side BK Hacken for €1.3m in January 2025. Amane’s transfer to Anderlecht was completed on 2 September 2026.
Amane arrives after making three Bundesliga appearances for Rapid this season, providing one assist. He also played four times in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Conference League, completing 340 minutes across those matches.
The move takes Amane into the Jupiler Pro League and adds a right-footed midfielder to Anderlecht’s squad. He was born in Abidjan and represents Cote d’Ivoire at international level. At 1.75m, he has played primarily in central midfield throughout his career.
Amane spent three years with Hacken before moving to Austria. During his time in Sweden, he helped the club win the Swedish championship in 2022 and was part of the side that lifted the Swedish Cup in 2023 and 2025.
His spell with Hacken followed a period without a club after leaving Ivorian side Mimosas Under-19s. He joined the Swedish club in January 2022 and went on to establish himself before earning a move to Rapid Vienna.
Anderlecht have agreed a contract with Amane running until 30 June 2030. The fee of €6.5m is above his recorded market value of €5m, making the transfer the latest significant step in a career that has taken him from Abidjan to Sweden, Austria and now Belgium.
Amane’s completed move to RSC Anderlecht was registered on 2 September 2026, with the midfielder contracted to the club until June 2030.
