Roma set to be without Manu Kone for three weeks with thigh injury

Roma will be without France midfielder Manu Kone for around three weeks after he suffered a thigh injury in Wednesday’s 4-3 Champions League defeat by Real Madrid.

Kone was forced off during the match, and Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini confirmed the extent of the problem after the game.

“Kone underwent tests which showed a grade-one thigh injury,” Gasperini told reporters.

“It is not a serious injury, but it will require some time,” he added.

Roma hope Kone will recover in time to face Sassuolo on 7 November, their final match before the next international break.

The midfielder is also expected to be included in the France squad for the upcoming international fixtures if he returns to the Roma team before then.

France’s next two Nations League matches are against Italy on 12 November and Turkey three days later.
