Roma make it four wins from four as Como beat Parma

Roma maintained their perfect start to the Serie A season with a 2-0 victory over Torino in the fourth round of fixtures.

Donyell Malen opened the scoring in the 40th minute, converting from inside the six-yard box to give Roma the lead.

The Dutch forward has now scored six goals in his first four league matches. He is only the third player in Roma’s history to score more than five goals during that opening sequence, following Pedro Manfredini and Francesco Totti.

Torino were unable to find an equaliser, and Roma secured the points in the third minute of second-half stoppage time. Niccolo Pisilli finished the move to make it 2-0, although he immediately went down with what appeared to be a muscle problem.

The result leaves Roma top of the table on 12 points, with a perfect record after four matches. Torino remain on three points in 14th place.

Como continue strong run

Como also maintained their impressive form by beating Parma 2-1 in the same round of Serie A fixtures.

The victory was Como’s fourth in succession in all competitions. Their only dropped points came in the opening league match, when they drew with Udinese.

Como took the lead in the 23rd minute when Jacopo Ramon finished from a cross by Nico Paz.

Kaiky doubled their advantage in the 83rd minute with a shot from inside the penalty area, putting Como in control of the match.

Parma reduced the deficit in the second minute of stoppage time when David Roueiro scored with a first-time effort, but Como held on to claim all three points.

The win takes Como to 10 points and third place in the table. Parma remain on one point in 17th.
