Rodolphe Ekou: FC Dinamo eye move for Ivorian Liepaja midfielder

Rodolphe Ekou, the Ivorian defensive midfielder currently at Liepaja, is being linked with a move to Romanian side FC Dinamo in the SuperLiga. The 21-year-old has emerged as a target after establishing himself as a regular in the Latvian Virsliga this season.

Ekou has featured in 19 league matches for Liepaja in 2026, scoring once and picking up four yellow cards, and has started in the majority of his sides fixtures. His performances at the base of midfield, where he operates primarily as a defensive midfielder, have drawn interest from Dinamo as they look to strengthen in the centre of the pitch.

Standing at 1.88m and preferring his right foot, Ekou joined Liepaja from SOL FC d’Abobo in January 2026. The move from the Ivorian club was completed on a free transfer, and he has since accumulated 1,467 minutes of league action in Latvia.

Any deal is likely to require a significant offer, with Ekou under contract at Liepaja until 15 November 2028 and currently valued at around 250,000. That contractual situation places Liepaja in a strong negotiating position should Dinamo decide to firm up their interest with a formal bid.
