Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has weighed in on the future of star forward Mohamed Salah, urging the club to meet the Egyptian’s demands to secure his stay.
Salah, who is entering the final months of his current contract, will be eligible to negotiate with rival clubs from January 1, sparking concern over his potential departure.
Speaking to Amazon Prime, Fowler emphasised the importance of Salah to Liverpool, calling him a “fantastic player” and advocating for the club to act decisively.
“I’d give him what he wants, I think that’s the simple answer.
“I’m not big on the involvement, I’m big on the goals. Mo Salah’s performances for Liverpool for the contract he wants, he is a fantastic player, he is a game player that can win and change the game in a second,” Fowler said.
Reports have recently suggested that Salah was open to a one-year extension, but negotiations appear to have stalled. With no updates from the club on a new deal, uncertainty continues to grow around his future.
Adding to Liverpool’s contract concerns are Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, who are also nearing the end of their contracts.
The trio’s reluctance to discuss their futures publicly has left fans anxious about the potential impact on the squad.
