Barcelona Monitoring Leicester Star Riyad Mahrez
Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez is attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs following his impressive start to the Premier League season.
According to the Daily Mail, Barcelona are the latest club to be linked with the Algerian international. The Catalan giants are reportedly searching for an attacking reinforcement to ease the workload on their front line, especially after the departure of Pedro Rodriguez to Chelsea in the summer.
Although Barça brought in Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan, both players are ineligible to feature until January due to the club’s transfer ban, leaving manager Luis Enrique short of options in the meantime.
Mahrez, 24, joined Leicester from French side Le Havre in January 2014 when the Foxes were still in the Championship. Since then, the skilful left-footer has established himself as a key player at the King Power Stadium, earning praise for his creativity, dribbling, and goals.
Arsenal have also been linked with Mahrez in recent months, as interest in the player continues to grow.
With several months still remaining until the next transfer window, Mahrez’s performances will be closely watched by top clubs across Europe as they weigh their options for January.
