Naby Youssouf Oularé, the promising young Guinean central defender, has attracted significant attention from top European clubs following an impressive season with Turkish side Boluspor. Despite Boluspor’s setback in the play-offs, Oularé’s performance has not gone unnoticed, and he is considering a move this summer.
Currently under contract with Boluspor until June 2027, the 21-year-old has expressed his openness to exploring new opportunities.
In an exclusive interview with Africafoot, Oularé shared insights into his remarkable season and his future ambitions.
Reflecting on his performance, Oularé said, “It was my second season with Boluspor’s professional group. On a personal level, I think I had an excellent season.
In addition to my defensive work, I was also often decisive for my team.”
Known for his rare ability to score as a central defender, Oularé attributed his success to rigorous training and strategic play.
“Yes, it’s true that it’s rare to see a defender score. I believe that this can be worked on in training before repeating in matches. During last season I managed to score 3 goals.
This year, I scored 5 goals. To score goals, I take advantage of set plays a lot. Out of 4 or 5 corners in a match, I can score at least one goal. My club Boluspor recognizes this quality in me,” he explained.
Although Boluspor narrowly missed promotion to the Super Lig, finishing seventh and falling in the play-offs to Bodrum FK, Oularé remains positive about his future.
“No, we could not achieve our goal, which was promotion to the Super Lig. It’s a shame for us, but we have to continue working for next season,” he said.
The defender confirmed that interest from elite clubs is substantial, hinting at a possible transfer. “Yes, it’s possible.
There are many clubs that want me in several European countries,” he revealed, listing notable suitors such as Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Trabzonspor, Besiktas, Nantes, Metz, Clermont Foot, Lorient, and Parma.
Oularé is determined to elevate his career. “I think that after two seasons in the Turkish 2nd division championship, I now want to take a step forward.
I believe my ambition is to play at the highest level of world football. I am determined to achieve my goals and achieve a perfect professional career.”
Looking ahead to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Oularé expressed his excitement about potentially representing Guinea’s U23 team.
“Obviously, I would like to be part of this Olympic adventure with the national hope Syli of Guinea. We are already in the preparations for this competition, with the ambition to achieve a very good course,” he said.
Oularé also shared his close relationship with Kaba Diawara, the Guinea national team coach. “Yes, of course. I am also very close to him.
The way he calls me now, it seems like he’s known me for a very long time. He likes me a lot and encourages me.
He gives me advice and that’s very important for a young footballer like me,” Oularé concluded.
As the summer transfer window approaches, the football world will be watching closely to see where this talented defender will land next.
