Rio Ngumoha to choose between France and England for international future

Liverpool youngster Rio Ngumoha is reportedly free to choose between representing England and France at international level, following new details about his eligibility.

Per latest report, the highly rated prospect is also qualified to play for the French team due to his maternal heritage. His mother hails from Guadeloupe, an overseas department of France, which grants him French nationality and makes him eligible for selection by France national football team.

Guadeloupe’s status as part of France means its citizens automatically hold French citizenship, opening the door for Ngumoha to represent Les Bleus if he decides to do so.

This means the Liverpool forward is not tied to a single international pathway at this stage of his career and retains the option to choose between England and France in the future.

On the club front, Ngumoha has continued his development at Anfield, making 27 appearances this season and scoring three goals in all competitions as he gradually establishes himself within the senior setup.

With both nations potentially monitoring his progress, the youngster now faces an important long-term decision regarding his international future as his career continues to rise.
