Ricardo Faty has announced his departure from Turkish club Ankaragücü, citing frustration over his treatment and unpaid wages. The Senegalese midfielder, who was a regular starter upon his arrival, was gradually sidelined and eventually removed from the first-team squad.
Frustrated by the situation, including several weeks without pay, Faty decided to terminate his contract. “After being sidelined from the team and my wages not being paid, I have no other choice but to terminate my contract with the club,” he wrote on Twitter. In the same message, he thanked Ankaragücü supporters and wished his former teammates well.
At this stage, details about Faty’s next destination remain unclear. The 31-year-old midfielder will now be free to explore new opportunities and continue his career elsewhere, following his decision to leave the Turkish side.
