REVEALED: How Guinea star Serhou Guirassy rejected big money to stay at Dortmund
Prolific Guinea striker Serhou Guirassy is staying at Borussia Dortmund after rejecting a big-money move to Saudi Arabia.
The sensational striker, who was today named among the nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, enjoyed an outstanding debut season at BVB.
The club had no intention of selling, but Guirassy still had the chance to greatly boost his earnings this summer.
According to Sky reporter Patrick Berger, Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal made a highly lucrative offer for the 29-year-old. However, Guirassy had no interest in leaving Dortmund after just one season and swiftly turned the deal down.
With Al-Hilal eventually turning their attention to Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez, Guirassy remains focused on the new campaign, aiming to build on his success and help Dortmund compete for major honours.
For the Guinean striker, the plan is to show his quality in Europe, playing in one of the top leagues in the world and competing with the best players in the UEFA Champions League in the upcoming football season.
