Former FIFA referee Victor Hlungwani has called on Kaizer Chiefs to address Gaston Sirino’s on-field behavior following his recent red card incident at the weekend.

Sirino, who is a Uruguayan forward was given the marching orders when his outfit succumbed to a 4-1 defeat to SuperSport United in the South African Premier League.

The enterprising forward picked up two yellow cards in just 11 minutes, costing his outfit defeat against SuperSport United.

He is expected to miss his outfit upcoming crucial clash against former club Mamelodi Sundowns.

“I once officiated a Maritzburg vs. Sundowns cup game where Sirino got an early yellow. I warned captain Hlompho Kekana to speak to him, but five minutes later, he got another yellow and was sent off,” Hlungwani told Smash Sports YouTube Channel.

Sirino, who joined Chiefs at the start of the season, has contributed three goals and four assists in 15 games. However, his aggressive style remains a concern.

With Chiefs eyeing a CAF spot and the Nedbank Cup, managing Sirino’s emotions will be crucial. His absence against Sundowns on March 1 at Lucas Moripe Stadium adds to Amakhosi’s challenges.

Chiefs must now ensure discipline to avoid further costly suspensions.
