Stade Rennes resumed training this Monday with the presence of their new acquisition, Sylvain Armand, and under the guidance of the recently appointed coach, Philippe Montanier. One of the key players from the previous coach Frédéric Antonetti’s team, Jonathan Pitroipa, faced challenges towards the end of the last season.
Pitroipa, the Burkinabé player, shared insights into his difficulties, stating, “The end of last season was difficult because I was tired when I returned from the CAN (African Cup of Nations). After the tournament, we had to go to the country first. I came back, and I was sick because of the change in temperature.” He hopes to capitalize on the pre-season preparation to regain full fitness for an upcoming promising season.
“I’m starting to get back in shape, but I wouldn’t say that I’m 100%,” Pitroipa continues. “Physically, I had a little difficulty, and technically, I’m starting to regain the sensations I had before. Now we have to get back into physical shape to continue the matches.” The focus is on the physical conditioning phase as Pitroipa aims to recapture his top form for the challenges that lie ahead in the new season.
