M’Baye Niang Makes Rennes Move Permanent
Stade Rennais have confirmed the permanent signing of Senegalese striker M’Baye Niang following his successful loan spell with the club.
“We are very happy to announce the exercise of the option to buy M’Baye Niang,” said club president Olivier Létang on Rennes’ official website. “Since last August, when we placed our full trust in him, M’Baye has gradually found his place in the dressing room and on the pitch. Julien Stéphan and I could not imagine any other option than to keep M’Baye at our club.”
Niang enjoyed a productive season with Rennes, scoring 14 goals in all competitions, and has now signed a contract keeping him at the club until 2023.
The move marks the end of speculation over Niang’s future and solidifies Rennes’ attacking options for the coming seasons.
