PAUL-GEORGES NTEP FIRES BACK AT CRITICISM OVER ATTITUDE: “I KNOW WHO I AM”
Under fire once again, Paul-Georges Ntep has chosen to push back. The Cameroon-born France U21 international delivered a strong response following a fresh wave of criticism targeting his mentality and professionalism.
The controversy was sparked by a segment aired on Canal Football Club, in which AS Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim questioned the professionalism of French players. While Jardim’s remarks drew criticism from analysts Pierre Ménès and Mickaël Landreau, both were quick to praise Ntep for his performances with Rennes, framing him as a promising exception.
However, RMC pundit Daniel Riolo didn’t agree. A frequent critic of what he perceives as a poor mindset among French players, Riolo didn’t hold back and used Ntep as a symbol of the problem, labeling him a poster child for questionable professionalism.
In response, Ntep fired back without naming names, but the message was clear:
“I know who I am and where I come from. Those who speak without knowing me should be careful. Everyone has their journey. I remain focused on mine.”
His words reflect both frustration and determination to rise above the media noise, as he continues to balance expectations, praise, and criticism while developing his career. For Ntep, this might just be another step in proving his doubters wrong on and off the pitch.
