Remo Stars fought back from two goals down to secure a thrilling 2-2 draw with Lobi Stars in a postponed fixture of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Lobi Stars took an early advantage when Johnmark Atule opened the scoring in the 35th minute.
Just minutes before the break, the home side extended their lead when Onyekachi Okafor found the net, putting Lobi Stars 2-0 up at half-time.
However, Remo Stars responded strongly after the interval.
Haruna Hadi pulled one back for the visitors in the 56th minute, giving them hope of a comeback.
The equalizer arrived with 20 minutes remaining when substitute John Abah scored to level the match at 2-2, much to the delight of the Remo Stars bench and traveling supporters.
Despite their efforts, Lobi Stars could not regain the lead, and the game ended in a hard-fought draw.
The result means Remo Stars remains at the top of the NPFL standings with 61 points from 32 games, six points clear of second-placed Rivers United.
Meanwhile, Lobi Stars’ struggle continues, as they stay rooted at the bottom of the league table with 25 points from the same number of matches.
Both teams will be hoping to build on their respective results as the league heads toward its final stages, with Remo Stars aiming to maintain their lead and Lobi Stars fighting to avoid relegation.
