Relebohile Mofokeng can help Orlando Pirates win South African Premiership – Abdeslam Ouaddou
Head coach of Orlando Pirates Abdeslam Ouaddou insists a fully fit Relebohile Mofokeng can help Orlando Pirates win South African Premiership this season.
Mofokeng won Pirates the Carling Cup Knockout at weekend, netting in extra-time to seal a narrow victory over Marumo Gallants.
The Bafana Bafana midfielder had a slow start to the season, having missed a month of action in October due to injury setback. His return early last month saw him contribute a goal and two assists
Presently, Pirates are atop of the standings with 28 points and are looking to challenge defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns for the title this season.
“You can see a fit Rele Mofokeng and a Rele that is tired. If he’s 70% fit, he can help the team. I cannot imagine if he’s 100%. If he’s 100%, the president is someone who can make us win the title,” the coach said in the post-match press conference.
“The president [Yama2K] is very important for us in our team. I love him, I love his style of play. He’s a very good guy. Top human being, he’s someone who loves football, he dreams about football. I think 24 hours, he feels football.
“I cannot say much about his form in the beginning of the season. He played many games with the national team and didn’t have lot of time to rest. Even the season before he played 40 or 45 games, he’s not robot.
“I can understand that he was a bit tired, we gave him some rest, and he came back with a very good fitness. The last four games we played, he was part of our success.
