Reims Injury Update: Coach Vasseur Hopes for Agassa’s Return vs Bordeaux
Reims head coach Jean-Luc Vasseur provided an injury update ahead of their upcoming Ligue 1 clash against Bordeaux, expressing cautious optimism about Kossi Agassa’s availability.
🧤 Agassa’s Condition
The Togolese goalkeeper suffered a shoulder injury during a match against Marseille and was unable to feature in the following game against Metz, despite attempting to play through the pain.
“Kossi was injured on the pass to Thauvin which led to our third goal [vs Marseille]. He finished the match with this pain… He tried everything to play against Metz, but clearly wasn’t ready,” Vasseur explained.
❌ Bastien Also Injured
Agassa’s replacement, Sacha Bastien, who stepped in during the Metz match, has also picked up a significant quadriceps tear.
“Sacha Bastien has a big tear in his quadriceps. It’s annoying, because there’s a risk of a relapse from his last injury,” said the coach.
✅ Outlook for Bordeaux Match
Vasseur remains hopeful about Agassa’s return:
“We’re thinking, we want to get him back against Bordeaux. He’ll be rested until the last moment.”
📋 Summary:
-
Kossi Agassa: Shoulder injury; being monitored; hopeful for Bordeaux return
-
Sacha Bastien: Quadriceps tear; sidelined with relapse risk
