Jonathan Kodjia Set to Join Angers as Reims Confirms Departure
According to reports from Football365, Jonathan Kodjia, the 24-year-old French striker of Ivorian descent, is expected to make a move to Angers this summer.
Currently on loan at Caen, Kodjia has scored five goals in 27 Ligue 2 appearances this season. However, it appears the young Reims forward will not be returning to his parent club, joining teammate Yann Bénédick, 22, in departing Champagne on a permanent basis.
Reims club president Jean-Pierre Caillot confirmed last Thursday that Kodjia will not be reintegrated into the squad for the upcoming season. In contrast, Alexi Peuget, who recently underwent surgery for a knee sprain sustained in May and had started to find playing time before his loan to Châteauroux in January, remains part of the club’s plans.
The decision marks a clear shift in Reims’ roster ahead of the new campaign, as the club looks to reshape its squad following a season of mixed fortunes.
