Reda Ouakil: Delay Sports sign German-Moroccan defender from BFC Preussen on free transfer

Delay Sports have completed the signing of centre-back Reda Ouakil from BFC Preussen on a free transfer.

The 20-year-old defender joins the Berlin club after a season with Preussen, who compete in the Regionalliga Nordost, moving across the German capital as Delay Sports continue to shape their squad for the 2026-27 campaign.

Ouakil, a right-footed central defender standing at 1.85m, holds both German and Moroccan nationality. His arrival adds height and defensive presence to Delay Sports, who have recruited him following his progression through several youth systems in Germany.

Before his spell at BFC Preussen, Ouakil spent time in the youth ranks of FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin and FC Carl Zeiss Jena. He moved from Viktorias under-17 side to Carl Zeiss Jenas under-19s in 2023, then returned to Viktorias under-19s in early 2024, underlining a development path rooted in established youth set-ups.

Ouakil first appeared in Berlin youth football with FC Hertha 03 Zehlendorf, from where he switched to Viktoria 1889 Berlins under-17s in 2022. His subsequent steps into under-19 football and then senior regional football with BFC Preussen reflect a steady rise through the German system.

The defender now links up with Delay Sports in Berlin, where he continues his career in German football with his first move since leaving Regionalliga Nordost side BFC Preussen.
