‘Records mean little without trophies’, says CR Belouizdad coach Sead Ramovic
Sead Ramovic has marked a personal milestone after reaching 50 matches in charge of CR Belouizdad, though the German coach insists the achievement alone does not bring him complete satisfaction.
Ramovic took over the Algerian giants in February 2025 following his departure from Young Africans S.C., where he had previously worked after a spell with TS Galaxy.
In the demanding environment of North African football—where coaches often face intense scrutiny and short tenures—reaching the 50-game mark is widely viewed as a notable accomplishment. However, Ramovic is still chasing his first major trophy with the club.
The closest he has come so far was leading Belouizdad to the final of the Algerian Cup, where his side fell to a 2-0 defeat against USM Alger.
Despite that setback, the coach has overseen a period of stability at the club, guiding the team into the upper tier of the Algerian Ligue 1 standings as they push to secure continental qualification.
Reflecting on the milestone in a message posted on social media, Ramovic said he was proud to be working with one of Africa’s most historic clubs, while acknowledging that silverware remains the ultimate measure of success.
“Fifty matches as head coach of CR Belouizdad—proud to be part of one of the biggest clubs in Africa,” he wrote.
“To work for this historic club and wear its colours every day is a true privilege.
“I am grateful for the trust of the president and incredibly proud of the players, staff and supporters who fight for this badge every single day.
“Everything we achieve belongs to the supporters of this great club. We are only five matches away from the record for the most games as head coach in a single spell at CR Belouizdad, which is a proud milestone.
“But records mean little without trophies, and that will always remain the real objective for this great club. The journey continues.”
