Portugal and Guinea-Bissau defender Daniel Banjaqui is being linked with a move from Benfica to Real Sociedad in La Liga.

The 18-year-old right-back has made six senior appearances for Benfica this season, featuring three times in Liga Portugal 2, twice in the top flight and once in the Europa League. He has started all three of his Liga Portugal 2 matches and has played 250 minutes in that competition.

Banjaqui moved into Benfica’s first-team set-up from Benfica B in July 2026 and is under contract with the Portuguese club until 30 June 2031. His market value is listed at €10m.

The defender was born in Lisbon and has represented Portugal at youth level. He was part of the Portugal Under-17 side that won both the Under-17 World Cup and European Under-17 Championship in 2025.

Banjaqui came through Benfica’s academy after joining from Real Formacao in 2018. He progressed through the club’s youth teams before making the move to Benfica B in 2025.

There is no indication that a transfer has been agreed, and the rumour does not include a reported fee or probability. For now, Banjaqui remains a Benfica player with four years left on his current contract.
