Real Native loan move for Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bontle Molefe stalls

The proposed move for Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bontle Molefe to Motsepe Foundation Championship club Real Native FC has stalled, while Hope FC remain interested in signing the 23-year-old on loan.

Molefe is a product of the Kaizer Chiefs development system and has represented the club’s reserve side in the DStv Diski Challenge. He is expected to leave Amakhosi temporarily this season, with the club having several goalkeeping options available to manager.

The goalkeeper spent the previous campaign on loan at Leicesterford City, but did not receive as much playing time as he had hoped. A further loan move is now being considered as Kaizer Chiefs assess the best destination for him.

Casric Stars, who have since changed their name to Real Native FC, had been close to reaching an agreement with Kaizer Chiefs over a season-long loan for Molefe. However, the latest information is that the proposed deal has encountered difficulties and is no longer progressing smoothly.

Hope FC have also held discussions with Kaizer Chiefs regarding the player. Those talks remain at an early stage, with the division of Molefe’s salary understood to be one of the central issues.

The salary arrangement was also a stumbling block in negotiations between Kaizer Chiefs and Real Native FC. It remains unclear which club will eventually secure the goalkeeper’s services, although the expectation is that Molefe will be loaned out before the new season.

Kaizer Chiefs currently have Brandon Petersen, Bruce Bvuma, Renaldo Leaner and Takalani Mazhamba among their goalkeeping options, increasing the likelihood that Molefe will spend the campaign away from the club.

Molefe’s next destination has not yet been confirmed, and the situation could depend on whether either Real Native FC or Hope FC can reach an agreement with Kaizer Chiefs over the financial terms of the loan.
