Real Madrid TV attacks La Liga after Atletico Madrid derby defeat

Real Madrid TV has launched a strong criticism of La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation following what it described as refereeing errors in the Madrid derby, in which Real Madrid were beaten 2-1 by Atletico Madrid.

The club’s official channel said the latest decisions affecting Real Madrid had left it unable to discuss the match in its usual way, and announced that it would no longer analyse games.

“Talking about tactics or football makes no sense anymore,” Real Madrid TV said, according to statements published by The Touchline account on X on 20 September 2026.

The channel also used a highly provocative comparison when describing its view of the treatment Real Madrid receive in Spanish football.

“All we are missing is for La Liga to allow Real Madrid rivals to play the match with guns against us,” it said.

The comments came after Real Madrid’s 2-1 defeat by Atletico Madrid in the derby. Real Madrid TV blamed the result and the surrounding controversy on what it regarded as poor officiating, although the source did not specify the individual decisions involved.

In a further criticism, the channel claimed Real Madrid were being treated differently from other clubs and accused both La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation of preventing the club from competing fairly.

“There is different treatment when it comes to Real Madrid,” it said. “La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation do not allow Real Madrid to compete. They have a plan.”

The broadcaster continued its attack by directing criticism at the competition under Javier Tebas, La Liga’s president.

“All of this makes you want to vomit,” Real Madrid TV said. “They do not care if filth is scattered everywhere in Javier Tebas’s league.”

The remarks were shared by The Touchline on X in two posts dated 20 September 2026. One reported Real Madrid TV’s decision to stop analysing matches, while the other highlighted its reference to rivals being allowed to use guns against Real Madrid.

The decision to abandon post-match analysis marks a change from the channel’s normal coverage, which includes discussion of tactics and football. Real Madrid TV said such analysis was no longer meaningful in the current circumstances.
