Real Madrid trio Carvajal, Alaba and Ceballos weigh options for 2026-27

Dani Carvajal, David Alaba and Dani Ceballos remain without clubs after leaving Real Madrid this summer, with all three players still searching for new teams before the 2026-27 season.

Carvajal and Alaba departed the Santiago Bernabeu after their contracts expired. Ceballos also ended his association with the Spanish club after reaching an agreement to terminate a deal that had been due to run until 2027.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the former Real Madrid players are now assessing their options as they look for fresh opportunities in the transfer market.

Carvajal, who is 34, has been training alongside Joselu at Ciudad del Futbol in Las Rozas, the headquarters of the Royal Spanish Football Federation. The pair are waiting for offers from clubs interested in signing them.

Carvajal spent more than a decade with Real Madrid and became an important figure at the club, but he is now considering the next stage of his career after leaving at the end of his contract. His current training programme with Joselu is allowing him to maintain his fitness while he waits for a suitable proposal.

Alaba, also 34, has taken a different approach. The Austria defender went on holiday after the World Cup and is currently in Germany while he waits to determine his next destination.

There has been considerable speculation linking Alaba with a move to the Saudi league. However, no agreement has been reached and he remains without a club for the time being.

Alaba joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich and won major honours during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, although his departure means he is now also examining the available possibilities in the market.

Ceballos, 30, has been training at Ciudad del Futbol in Las Rozas as he attempts to stay ready while negotiations over his future continue.

The midfielder has been linked with several clubs that have shown interest in signing him. Real Betis are among the teams being discussed, but the move appears to depend on whether they can find a financial formula that would make the deal possible.

Ceballos began his professional career with Real Betis before moving to Real Madrid, and a return to the club has been the subject of sustained speculation. However, the club currently does not have enough room under its salary cap to complete a deal for the Spain international.

AS reports that Ceballos’ representatives are working on two other proposals in addition to the possibility of returning to Real Betis.

For now, Ceballos is continuing to explore those alternatives, with the priority being to secure a club before the transfer window closes. The same uncertainty surrounds Carvajal and Alaba, leaving all three former Real Madrid players waiting for their next career moves.
